Revisión: Reading comprehension has as main process to promote in the individual capacities of interpretation, reason why this investigation had the purpose of To describe the levels of reading in 9th grade students of the Educational Institutions Altaír de la Sabana Gymnasium and the Pre university student of The city of Sincelejo-Sucre. For this study, a positivist, quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional paradigm was implemented in an intentional sample of 100 students, in which the reading sub-scale of the ENI test was applied. The results of the neuropsychological evaluation (ENI) in the reading subtest (Precision) showed that 61% scored low, 38% rated on average and 1% extremely high. On the other hand, the reading subtest (Comprehension) indicates that within the low range are 56%, on the average 42% and in the greater range 2%. Also in the reading sub-test (Velocity) indicated that within the low percentile range are 15% of the sample, 57% in the average and in the greater range 28%. In summary, quality education delivered with effective models, provides satisfactory levels in the field of reading analysis that facilitate levels of accuracy, comprehension and speed.
